So I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what to write about. Worried that I would disappoint my readers. I realized during my writing break that's its okay not to know what to write about. The point of me writing this blog was to share my spiritual walk with Christ. I guess you can call this break in my writing a "time of teaching." In other words, it's not every day that I expect to have some kind of spiritual growth, or something worth writing about. I do struggle daily with my walk, as do all believers. When I have a new lesson learned or feel the calling to write again, I will write about it. Please keep your eyes posted.
I would like to encourage my readers to continue their walk with Christ. Keep diving into prayer. Talk to God as your best friend. Check in with him daily. Pray that God will continue to use you to do his work, pray for me in the same way. Learn to find the Joy in life and those mundane tasks that you have. God has placed those mundane tasks to teach you to trust and rely on him. Remember not every day are you going to have that "ah ha" moment and know that you have grown. There are low moments in your walk where you are still being taught, or God's calling you to be closer. Don't put God on the back burner, remember he is always there, and he should be first in your life!
We started this new group with our church it meets once a month. We are learning how to be a good neighbor. By neighbor I mean those that live next to you and any person on your block, God has put in your life (even if its someone you run into at the supermarket). To love those around you as Christ has loved you. To offer yourself in any way possible to help or benefit someone else.
Here are some examples of how to be an imitator of Christ. These are some things I have been able to act on are: holding the door for someone even if you're late. Picking up something that has fallen out of a strangers hand and giving it back. Not cursing out the person that has just cut you off (remember there's a reason they needed that space). Sharing a meal with someone you know or a neighbor across the street. Buying a meal for that homeless man sitting outside Mcdonalds. As I pass it off, I usually say "Here you go Sir or Ma'am, God bless" I tend to show them the respect they deserve by calling them, Sir or Ma'am. You would be amazed how their eyes light up. Praying for that person later that night. If you see them again let them know that you have been praying for them. Remember Christ chose to love us, even though we aren't worthy as we are all sinners. Model that love you have for Christ and that he has given you by being a good neighbor.
Challenge for you, and feel free to leave comments if you should choose. Take the next few weeks to love your neighbors, share with me and the rest of the readers what God called you to do.
Until I write again, God bless all of you.
